Unexpected Sources of Income

Introduction

Recently, I have started with The Secret Science of Getting Rich Programme, which got me thinking of the times that synchronicity  has played a big part in my financial life. One, fairly recent incident really stands out for me, so I will share it with you here. It is a bit of a long story, but I hope it will be worth the read, and serve as a demonstration of how cunningly the Law of Attraction can work.

Background

Well, this goes back over nine years ago, long before my wife even met me. She was working at a large company as a secretary, and got a large settlement from her provident fund, which enabled her to move to Cape Town to pursue a new carreer as a make-up artist. This is also where she met me, which is a story for itself, and one which I might tell if enough people would like to know it.

About five years after that, we moved again, this time to Johannesburg, where my wife reconnected to an old friend of hers, that she used to work with.  This friend informed her that their old company has been looking for its ex-employees, since they have found some irregularities with the way the provident fund had been paid out, and they actually owed money to their ex-employees.

Thanks to her, we got the correct documentation, filled it in, sent it off, and forgot about it. This was about a year ago. We didn’t expect much from it, a couple of thousand at the most.

Recent

Of course, like it always does, life went on. We had a daughter, and decided that South Africa was not right for us anymore, deciding to move to Serbia for various reasons.

We set a goal for ourselves: To pay off all our debt, and to have a minimum of six months living costs. We were not sure how we would do this, especially since we had a large amount of debt, but we were determined.

We started off well, managing to save a little of my salary for the first month, and actually staying within our budget for the first time in our lives.

About a month after we have moved, I received an email from my mother (whom I asked to check our mail), that my wife’s old company has sent us a letter, stating that they would pay us about R150000 (approx. $15000). I did not believe this at first, actually having to read the email several times before it sunk in, and then I still had to phone my mother, just to make sure that it was not some sort of joke… It wasn’t

The money was enough to pay off all our debt, and give us about four months of living costs, which, while not completelly reaching our goal, brought us a lot closer to it.

Now

All this happened about four months ago, and is really just starting to sink in. Just two weeks ago, I got an IM message for my wife saying: “We are debt free! I just realised it!”… More powerfully than the monetary boost, is the fact that the whole story highlights the power of the Law of Attraction: We sent an intention out to the universe, held to it, and the universe replied back in a way we could not have predicted… Who could have expected so much money from a job my wife worked at almost a decade ago?
