The Tyrrany of PayPal
I have just tried to sign on for an online advertising service, which shall remain nameless, but they only allow deposits into a PayPal account. This is not the first one I have come across.
What irritates me about this situation, is the fact that in South Africa, while I can have a PayPal account, I can use it to pay for things, but not to receive money, and I am sure that this is not the only country that has this or a similar problem.
Why do people find it so difficult to make another plan for things like this… They could either mail cheques, or simply allow a selection of virtual currency processors, such as e-gold or StormPay. Why make it so difficult for people to partner with them?
It would be simple enough to set up an international credit card, and have PayPal linked to that account, but I refuse to do it… Would I really want to work with a company that does not take my interests into account?

Nenad, much as I sympathize with you, its obvious that there a few things you are missing.
Paypal is not deliberately refusing to allow South African users to receive payment. According to paypal: “South African residents may not use PayPal to receive payments. PayPal continues to research how best to expand its offering in South Africa.”
Bottom line? Government policies with regards to finance and the economy is what is restricting paypal. They would definitely make money if you in SA were able to receive funds via their system. So, I don’t believe they are sabotaging you deliberately.
Contact me, I might be able to help you with the online payment for your ad stuff. Cheers!
I think I was not very clear in my post (it was a bit of a rant). I was actually upset about the companies that only deal with PayPal, but do not provide alternatives for those of us who cannot use it fully.
Thanks for the feedback!
